About the orchestra
A Concordia rehearsal Concordia was formed in 1997 and has steadily grown in reputation and membership. It comprises musicians from all walks of life, including students, teachers, accountants and engineers. The orchestra generally performs two or three concerts for the public each year. The group offers members the opportunity to meet new people, play challenging music and develop their skills of musicianship in a relaxed and friendly environment.

We meet to rehearse on Tuesday evenings at Ferryhill Parish Chuch from 19:30 to 21:30. The church has been the venue for most of our concerts in the past couple of years, although we have performed at Banchory East Church recently. We pride ourselves on our high standard of musicianship and these concerts have received many encouraging reviews in the local press - "feel the quality", "spirited and confident throughout", "beautifully haunting performances".

Another highlight of the year for many players is our annual "away day" each spring. We spend the day in the fantastic surroundings of the Glen Tanar Estate at Aboyne, with a mixture of rehearsals in front of the grand log fire, a sumptuous lunch and a game of rounders or a snowball fight, depending on the weather!
