LATEST NEWS
HARA COMMITTEE MEETING Tuesday 13th July 2010

NEW COMMITTEE MEMBER

Following the request in recent Newsletter for potential new members to come forward, the Committee welcomed along LINDA ALVES to our meeting and agreed to co-opt her on to the Committee until the AGM in November.

PLANNING FOR REAL

After several public consultations and feedback and lots of hard work by Dawn Brodie and her team at Buchan Development Partnership (BDP), the Hatton Community Action Plan has now been published and is being distributed to local organisations and worthies within the village. It is available online at www.ouraberdeenshire.org.uk or contact HARA or BDP if you want a printed copy.

HARA will be taking a Survey Form door-to-door in the next few weeks to gauge peoples' views on the recent Heating System upgrades to Council housing in the village. We will be visiting those who have their new gas heating system installed.

We are in the process of replacing the carpet shampooer and wallpaper stripper in the Tool Library, as they have both seen better days. One electric strimmer was deemed beyond repair and will also be replaced. The second petrol mower was recently overhauled and is now back in service.

The annual HARA Barbecue is being planned for Saturday 14th August, starting around 2pm.

HARA NEWSLETTER

The June 2010 Newsletter was recently hand-delivered to every house in the village. An edited version can be found on the HARA Newsletter page of this website.

The next issue is currently being compiled - if you have any news or advertising, please contact the Editor, Claire Coulson, as soon as possible.

VILLAGE ORDERLY

Hatton once again has a Village Orderly, shared with Longside, for 10 weeks over the Summer (late June to early September).

HARA TOOL LIBRARY

With Summer now here, the Tool Library is busy. The grass requires regular cutting! Apart from the usual gardening mowers, a scarifier, rotavator, strimmers etc, don't forget we also have a 27 foot extending ladder. The carpet shampooer and wallpaper stripper are currently awaiting replacement - carpet shampooer still works and is available for hire.

Claire is now administering the Tool Library, so contact her if you want to borrow anything.
