Welcome to the Website for Grampian Kidney Patients Association.
Everyone in Grampian Region and the Northern Isles who is receiving or has received treatment for end stage Renal failure are Members of the Association and in addition we welcome friends,family and members of the care team as supporters of our organisation.
Our aim is to raise funds on behalf of the Association for the benefit of members,to fund research into Kidney disease at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and to raise awareness of the needs of our members.
It is also part of our brief to organise social get togethers to allow members and their families to support each other,share experiences and have some fun into the bargain.
We are commited to raising the awareness of the need for organ donation in general and Kidney donation in particular,and to this end we have on our committee the pre-dialysis and Transplant Liason Co-ordinator at ARI along with the Childrens Liason Nurse.
The Association is run entirely by unpaid volunteers and has been in existence since the early 1970,s
