Select Trials
There has been such a poor response regarding trials for the select squad that the trials will be re-sheduled. Team managers need to put forward their selected players via a phone call to Alan on 325675 urgently.

29th Aug

START of 2010/11 SEASON

The season will begin on Saturday 21st August with teams playing a friendly. Thereafter, teams will play in either the Law or Emslie Cup, see Rules page for eligibility. These games will be played mid week and Saturdays. Teams may be required to play on Mon-Wed or Tues-Thurs evenings. Any of these cup play-offs and semi-finals will hopefully be played on Saturday 11th September.

League fixtures should begin on Saturday 18th September.

REVISED PLAYER ELIGIBILITY for 2010/11

Players may only play for a team if they are currently attending that school.

This above rule replaces the former one where players that had left a school and were now attending one that was not a member of the APSFA were eligible to play for the school they had left.

The above alteration was proposed and accepted at the 2010 AGM.

14th June

REVISED CANCELLATION of GAMES for 2010/11

CANCELLING GAMES:

If you need to cancel your scheduled game, you must let Alan Keith know by phone on 325675 by Thursday at the latest.

LATE CANCELLATION OF GAMES (FRIDAYS):

Games WILL ONLY be cancelled on Fridays if advised to Alan on 325675 by the school HEAD TEACHER no later than 12:00 on the Friday.

If when a game has been cancelled, a charge of £19.50 may be made by the council for the pitch hire. In such cases that invoice will be passed on to the team who cancelled the game.

FAILURE TO TURN UP FOR GAMES:

Any teams failing to turn up for games will also be subject to the above charge if imposed by the council and they will also forfeit that games to their opponebts who did turn up.

The above alterations to these rules was proposed and accepted at the 2010 AGM.

Results!!! You MUST
YOU MUST phone in your results.

There have been a few cases of incorrect scores being reported. Can you please ensure that both the HOME and AWAY managers phone in the result. This allows Alan to verify that the results are correct and eliminates unnecessary remedial work both for Alan and for us on the web-site.

Team managers must remember that it is their responsibility to phone in their results, whether they are the home or away team.

We are unable to update the web-site if you do not phone in your results. Any teams that do not do this will have L, (Late), in their result column.

So remember, EVERY team MUST phone Alan on 325675 to advise of their result, win, draw or loss. This also assists with any incorrect scores as the results should be the same from both teams. If your call is not answered, do not hang up, you will get an answering service. Please leave a message stating who you are, the team you represent and the result of your game. If you need to speak to Alan, leave your contact number and ask him to call you back.

Bad Weather Cancellations
Where possible if the weather is very bad during the week and the pitches are known to be unplayable notification will be given to the schools, on the web and in the paper. If all is ok on a Friday but on the Saturday the weather is bad team managers may be informed by phone before the game. Team managers ONLY can try to call Alan to find out if their game is on. Please restrict calls to managers only as Alan has 44 teams to deal with. Unfortunatley the situation can arise where Alan is unable to get information about the pitch you are playing on. In this case you will need to go as usual as there are no resident groundsmen to contact.

July 2009

Free Dates:
You are allowed to request up to FOUR free dates per season, but these requests must be made to Alan by the FRIDAY the week before you require the free date, so that you are NOT given a fixture. The fixtures for the following week are made up on a Saturday after the results are all to hand, so you MUST have your request in by the FRIDAY at the latest.

Calling off games and requesting free dates at short notice causes a lot of inconvenience to Alan, the groundsmen and to your opponents who then end up without a game. Remember, the pitch has been specifically booked for your game.

So please think ahead and advise Alan if you require a free date well in advance and remember you will not be allowed to have any more than FOUR free dates.
