Aberdeen Writers' Circle
Welcome to Aberdeen Writers' Circle's Home Page. We hope you will find it interesting, and may be able to join us at our meetings.
Aberdeen Writers' Circle
AWC meets every Wednesday (apart from Christmas and school summer holidays)from 10.30 am until 12.30 in Aberdeen Arts Centre.

We welcome anyone who writes prose or poetry at any level of experience, or indeed, anyone who is simply interested in writing and would love to put pen to paper!. After a cup of tea/coffee, friendly chat followed by any weekly business items, meetings mainly take the form of members' readings, with useful and encouraging feedback from fellow members. Weekly prompts are given to stir the imagination, although members do not have to follow these if they do not wish. Sometimes there is time for a written exercise.

We have a few workshops and/or guest speakers during the year and these visits are always popular. We are also in partnership with New Words Festival (formerly Wordfringe Festival) which runs writers' events during September 2010 and also brings you details of other events throughout the year in Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland. See the website www.newwords.co.uk for further details.

The charge per meeting is £2.50, which helps defray expenses and also goes towards the rent of our room at the Arts Centre.

Do come along and join us any Wednesday morning. You will be made very welcome. (If you need further information see contacts page.)
