The Aberdeen Safer Community Trust, which began in 1998, is the only charity of its kind in Scotland. Our aim is to make Aberdeen a safer place by supporting efforts to reduce crime, lessen the fear of crime and protect peoples’ right to live in confidence without fear for their own or others safety.

We want to encourage people to apply local answers to local problems, as our main objective is to provide funding to groups who have a community safety idea that they want to put into action.

We can give grants up to a maximum of £5,000 from one of our two grant schemes; these comprise our own Community Safety Award Scheme, and the Scottish Executive Community Safety Award Scheme Since it began we have granted over 100 applications for funding worth more than £100,000.

As we are an independent charity we are always grateful for any donations given to us and since all of our administration fees come from a central source we can guarantee that every penny given will be put back into Aberdeen in the form of a worthwhile safety initiative.
