Welcome to Aberdeen Community Trees (ACT).
Over many years’ trees, woods and hedgerows have been disappearing from our landscape at an alarming rate. The causes are many and varied: disease, neglect, urban sprawl and severe storms.
The aim of Aberdeen Community Trees is to promote the importance of trees in the urban environment and to train up and support local Tree Wardens to help their communities to understand and respond to these problems.
Tree Wardens are people appointed by their Community Council or other recognised groups to liaise, gather information and to encourage practical projects relating to trees in their community.
ACT is funded by Aberdeen Countryside Project, Aberdeen City Council and Fresh Futures in conjunction with the Tree Council.
